About RainCheq

RainCheq is a local-first financial forecasting app. It runs on your device so you can project account balances and cash flow weeks, months, or years ahead, all without sending your data to a server.

We built RainCheq for people who want to see where their money is going without handing their financial data to a third party. Your data stays on your machine. No cloud sync, no data sharing, no account required to use core features.

RainCheq is made by Routine Softworks, a small independent studio focused on thoughtful, privacy-respecting tools.

RainCheq started with a very simple, very real question: "Will this account have enough in it to cover rent on the 1st?" Our head of engineering was managing a complicated financial situation with money moving in and out of different accounts on varying schedules, and that single question needed an answer. There were tools that could forecast balances, but they all required uploading full transaction histories to third-party servers, turning deeply personal financial data into something to be stored, analyzed, and potentially monetized or breached.

The math wasn't the hard part. The hard part was finding a solution that didn't require giving up control. So instead of sending his financial life into the cloud, he built a local system that could project balances forward, account for real-world timing, and answer the question that actually mattered without handing sensitive data to someone else.

RainCheq exists because nobody should have to make that tradeoff. It's built for people who want clarity and insight without surveillance and a tool that respects your ownership of your data.
