Routine Softworks ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and information when you use our products and services.

Your data stays on your device.

Our product is designed to run locally on your device. All your data is stored locally and is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties without your explicit action.

Data Collection and Storage

Local Data Storage

• All data is stored locally on your device in local database files.
• We do not have access to this data, and it is never automatically transmitted to us.
• Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or copy it.

Website and Waitlist

When you sign up for our waitlist or newsletter, we collect:

• Email address (required for waitlist/newsletter)

We use Resend, a third-party email service provider, to manage our waitlist and send you emails. Your email address is stored in Resend's contact management system to enable us to send you product updates, releases, and relevant information. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties beyond what is necessary to provide the email service through Resend.

Resend's privacy policy governs how they handle your email address. We encourage you to review Resend's Privacy Policy to understand how they process your data.

Logging

Logging is disabled by default. When enabled, logs are written to your device's local file system. You can optionally enable a separate setting to send logs to Routine Softworks. All logs, whether stored locally or transmitted, are anonymized and do not contain personally identifiable information (PII).

No Tracking or Analytics

Our application does not include analytics, tracking pixels, or behavioral tracking mechanisms. The logging described above is used solely for troubleshooting purposes and is separate from tracking or analytics.

Data Sharing

We Do Not Share Your Data

• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties
• We do not have access to your data because it is stored locally on your device
• Email addresses collected for waitlist/newsletter are stored with Resend (our email service provider) and used only for communication purposes
• If you enable the optional setting to send logs to Routine Softworks, anonymized logs may be transmitted. This requires your explicit opt-in

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Resend: We use Resend to manage our waitlist and send email communications. Your email address is stored in Resend's system. Please review Resend's Privacy Policy for information about how they handle your data.
• Plaid: We use Plaid to enable bank connections and account syncing. When you connect your bank accounts through Plaid, your bank credentials are entered directly into Plaid's secure interface and are never shared with us. Plaid provides transaction and account data to our application according to their privacy policy and terms of service. Please review Plaid's Privacy Policy for information about how they handle your data.
• Stripe: We use Stripe to process payments. When you make a payment, your payment information is processed directly by Stripe and is never stored on our servers. Please review Stripe's Privacy Policy for information about how they handle your data.

Roadmaped Features: We are planning additional features that will involve third-party services. The webapp will include a hosted backend that does not retain data when the webapp is not in use. Data storage for the webapp is planned to use your cloud storage (iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.), and AI categorization will involve passing transaction data through a large language model (LLM). As these features are developed and specific third-party providers are selected, they will be listed here along with links to each of their privacy policies.

Data Security

Local Security

Your data is stored locally on your device. The security of this data depends on your operating system's file permissions and any disk encryption you have enabled. We recommend:

• Using strong file system permissions
• Storing data in encrypted locations if your OS supports it
• Using full-disk encryption on your device

Your Rights

Access to Your Data

• You have full access to your data through our application interfaces
• You can export your data at any time
• Local database files can be accessed directly using standard tools

Deletion of Data

• You can delete any data through our application interfaces
• To completely remove all data, use the "Delete all data" button in the application's admin page, or delete the local database files directly
• We do not retain any copies of your data
• You can unsubscribe from our newsletter/waitlist at any time. Every email we send you will include an unsubscribe link.

Data Portability

• Your data is stored in standard formats that can be accessed with many tools
• You can export data through the application interfaces
• You can copy database files to back up or move to another device

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

Compliance

All data is stored locally and we do not collect or process personal data beyond email addresses for communication and optional anonymized logs (with your explicit opt-in). No data is transferred to servers without your explicit action, and users have full control over their data.

We do not sell personal information. Users have full control over their data stored locally. Email addresses collected for communication purposes are stored with Resend (our email service provider) and used solely for that purpose. We do not sell or share email addresses with third parties beyond what is necessary to provide the email service.
